Brisbane hip hop artist Jacinta Lal has entered 2021 ready to introduce herself to new audiences with the release of her debut EP, DIVYA. A collection of music that reflects her journey as an artist, and as a confident young woman, the EP is a statement piece from Jacinta - and a feisty one at that.

From it, Jacinta announces the release of her new single ‘Self-Discover’, a track that comes brimming with natural confidence and ambition.

Inspired by the likes of Missy Elliott, J. Cole and Doja Cat, Jacinta has been growing impressively as an artist over the last three years, becoming an exciting young voice on Brisbane’s hip hop scene. Her music celebrates uniqueness and her own personal and creative vibrancy, incorporating her cultural background with a unique perspective on contemporary Australia.

Recorded in Brisbane with James Angus and Harry Fox on mixing and mastering respectively, ‘Self-Discover’ is a vibe for Jacinta to express lessons learned through quickfire bars and sharp production.

“This track is one my favourite ones to date as it has a message that I couldn’t preach enough. I think it is so important at some point to develop a relationship with yourself before giving your time and love to another person (this can include friendships). This can be from having coffee on your own, to travelling solo to taking up new activities without the need to be with another person at the same time. Just having pure enjoyment with your own company.”
