Melbourne's Fox DeRoche reveals shining new single 'SOC PUPPET'
Blending a variety of sonic influences together and applying his own unique stamp of originality onto things, Melbourne songwriter and performer Fox DeRoche unveils new single, ‘SOC PUPPET’.
Like a cross between Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Tame Impala and Rex Orange County, Fox DeRoche brings an otherworldly element to his music; ‘SOC PUPPET’ standing out as a strong example of where the artist is taking his music into 2022. The single shimmers with its electronic and synth-driven production, with DeRoche’s vocals existing here to warp and hypnotise.
Working with producer and mix engineer Gerard Sidhu (Strange Talk), DeRoche created ‘SOC PUPPET’ between his and Sidhu’s home studios in Melbourne. As part of his larger, forthcoming EP project, ‘SOC PUPPET’ engages with DeRoche’s playful and emotional sides - ultimately letting his personality shine through.
“I’m quite proud of this piece. It was the first song I started for the EP and although it was one of the last to be finished, much emotion and feeling went into the making of it. This tapestry of love was meant to be out where the world can hear it, I just hope you guys love it as much as I do!”
FOX DEROCHE
The release of ‘SOC PUPPET’ follows on from DeRoche’s debut release ‘ROUND-A-BOUT’, back in October. Trained as a guitarist, pianist and drummer, DeRoche has been diligently working on his first collection of music as a solo artist over the last year. And now, with two strong efforts heralding the EP’s arrival, DeRoche is ready to introduce himself further to more audiences.
‘SOC PUPPET’ is the next natural step in this evolution.
