Allora releases first single ‘WHAT PLANET’ EP RUMINATIONS to drop 26th of February
“The single: WHAT PLANET, luminates a dreamy and funky blend of pop rock. The sound is perfectly in line with the creative aesthetic direction of 70’s acid western films, in particular, directed by Alejandro Jodorowsky: EL TOPO (1970) and The Holy Mountain (1973). Discovering this, inspired my group to Interpret the music video for WHAT PLANET as an Acid Western film, All shot on SUPER 8. The story is about how I daydream and engage in internal conflicts that are confusing and simply not present. Casted with a talented group of local creatives; Will Lodder, Amber Rose, Maya Gardiner-Mullins, Mia Mar, , Myself. It was shot in Stockton Sand dunes in Newcastle.
Not having a Uni course in 2020, I stumbled across insecurities of productiveness, worthiness and career choice. The song is about how I have found myself daydreaming to withdraw/escape from the serious, societal responsibilities that I feel pressured to pursue. Hence the 2nc chorus lyrics; “You live on what planet”. As we know 2020 truly was a devastating year for mental health and internal conflicts. WHAT PLANET started with the bass line, while jamming to another song that I was meant to finish!! (procrastinating, yet again) So I made a new project, instantly triggering a series of musical epiphanies that consumed me; escaping any responsibilities and developing the vibe of the song. Plans for content to Promote this release are 3 gradually revealing teasers in The days leading up, Trailer Advertisements, A documentary to post, professional videos performing in homemade videos, Merchandise opening and giveaways!, and set up a live performance by Mid 2021!”
