“I have always been a very strong and powerful woman and I feel my purpose in life is to make women feel the same way – regardless of their race, colour, shape or size I want every woman to know that they are beautiful. We are flawed and imperfect but that is truest definition of being a QUEEN. “Mashallah” is a song which represents a multitude of philosophical thoughts around the empowerment of women from diverse races, experiences, religions and culture. Embracing her Lebanese heritage the Arabic title means “what God has willed” and is widely used to express appreciation, joy, praise and thankfulness.”
“I wrote this song earlier in the year when I was facing some very difficult personal challenges and “Mashallah” was quite cathartic and helped me to understand that sometimes we don’t have a lot of control but it’s important to remain strong, powerful and to embrace the inner beauty we all have inside. I have a lot of young girls from all cultures who follow me and I feel a responsibility to show them that no matter what life throws at you it’s important to stand up straight and hold your head high. I know some people wont agree with some of the cultural aspects of this song and that’s their right but I am going to continue to fight for my beliefs so f*** the haters”
The official music video drops next Friday and is sure to set tongues wagging and bring her dedicated AMARNI Army to life. With a collage of women of various races, religions, sizes and shapes the video is set amongst a backdrop of Arabic themes and will be a visual feast.
