LA-based indie rock trio Blame Baby celebrate the release their debut EP Honest Answers to Your Most Private Questions and are sharing their new single, “Inside Out,” to celebrate. Over the course of the last year, the band, consisting of singer/guitarist Jesse Johnson, bassist Omar D Brancato and drummer Matt Tucci, have been putting out a steady stream of singles reflecting the exhilarating highs and frustrating lows of relationships. They’ve perfected punk-inflected power pop, angst-ridden indie gems and shoe-gazing whimsical confections—and are now ready to simply tear it up with their fourth single, “Inside Out.” The band have never sounded so stripped down and raw which suits the new song’s half wistful, half regretful “lost the girl” vignette perfectly. Johnson’s wordplay is at its sharpest and the 2:41 song wastes no time hitting your emotional gut with a poignant, swift kick.

Says Johnson: “’Inside Out’ is about the one that got away. Or rather, the one you let get away to sow your wild oats. Running into her at a bar years later makes you question if you made the right decision, while the butterflies in your stomach remind you that that kind of love still exists. It’s a song about hope tangled up in regret.”

Blame Baby continue to evolve their sound with each new single by taking timeless indie rock traditions and presenting them in their own idiosyncratic way. The Deli LA note: “Blame Baby have captured the essence of early 2000s emo, injected it into pop punk circa 2020,” The band have secured coverage in New Noise, The Deli LA, Pure Grain Audio and many more.

ABOUT BLAME BABY
Blame Baby came about when the three musicians met performing together in a production of King of the Road: The Roger Miller Story- an eccentric repertoire that is just one piece of the many influences that make the band so striking. They're a classic indie rock trio diving into universal themes of love, life, dysfunctional relationships and troubled psyches. Admittedly “not trying to reinvent the wheel,” they’re buoyed above the fray by their collective background and accomplishments: Tucci runs a high-profile drum forum (Groovru), Brancato is an accomplished composer/orchestrator for film and theatre, and Johnson has earned acclaim as an actor in the well-received National Geographic Channel movie Killing Lincoln (playing John Wilkes Booth) as well as the critically lauded indie film Chapman.

Blame Baby combine a natural savviness with punk sensibility while harnessing an artistic independence that sets them apart. Late 2019 saw the release of their debut single “Headcase” and a steady stream of new songs (which began with “The Floor” this past January) will be released in 2020.
