CLUB CAMÈL LET FLY VIGOROUS NEW TRACK ‘RADIO GIRL’
NSW South Coast-based indie-rock quintet Club Camèl have just revealed their latest searing cut ‘Radio Girl’ – produced by Jack Nigro (Pacific Avenue, The Terrys, Skegss) and mastered by Steve Smart (Tash Sultana, Cub Sport, Vance Joy).
Opening with soothing arpeggiating synthesizer and reverb-soaked guitars, ‘Radio Girl’ quickly soars into its magnetic verses driven by thundering bass and forthright drums. Lead singer Julius Boess’ captivating melodies meld with infectious guitar hooks to create vibrant choruses that lift ‘Radio Girl’ to memorable heights.
The band talk about the meaning behind ‘Radio Girl’:
“’Radio Girl’ is a song about a girl on a psychedelic journey. The track was inspired by a photo Cole received late one night from a friend who was indulging in some magic mushrooms and enjoying her own company. Cole wrote the lyrics the following morning, before linking up with Cameron and Julius in the afternoon to pair them with a melody and some guitars. The song came together very naturally and is one of our favourites to date.”
In the live arena the band will kick off a big 2022 with a performance at Yours and Owls Festival in Wollongong in early April.
Previous releases have seen Australian radio support from triple j, FBi, 2SER, RTR FM, SYN FM, 4ZZZ, Vox FM, 2RRR and 88.3 Southern FM. They’ve also received online praise from Backseat Mafia (UK), Music Feeds, Niche (JPN) and AAA Backstage.
Inspired by artists like Two Door Cinema Club, Tom Misch, Parcels and Last Dinosaurs, Club Camèl are an exciting newcomer, incorporating their unique voice to carve their own space into Australia's thriving indie scene.
