Australian indie rock group Hey Geronimo have just revealed their innovative new single ‘Last Days’ – produced by the band themselves and mixed by Brendan Cox (Imogen HeapJadu Heart).

Introduced with mechanic drums and menacing synths, the track’s ominous atmosphere is accentuated with the introduction of echo-laden call and response vocals as the terraced dynamics lead towards an evocative chorus, brimming with fuzzed guitars and intricate percussion. Hey Geronimo’s eccentric and experimental approach to song writing is evident within the immense chemistry on display; an idiosyncratic offering with a myriad of indie rudiments.

Singer-Keyboardist Pluto Jonze describes the story behind ‘Last Days’:

“’Last Days’ is about what we’re living through. It feels inevitable now - we’re just partying on the deck of the Titanic. With climate change, a widening wealth gap and a mass distortion in our ability to critically think. America’s Empire (which we’re intrinsically tethered to) is imploding in slow-motion and it’s hard to look away. The Last Days of Rome are upon us.”

Debut record ‘Crashing into the Sun’ was received warmly with strong support and glowing reviews from the likes of triple jSpotifySydney Morning Herald and Rolling Stone Australia, including a performance on triple j’s esteemed ‘Like A Version’ segment. This followed on to their sophomore cut ‘CONTENT’, a concept album that deals with the bizarre future evolving in front of our eyes, accentuated by single ‘Bad Citizen’ which has racked up over 700K streams on Spotify.

Previous releases have also been widely praised by the likes of Clash Magazine (UK), The Revue (CAN), PileratsAAA BackstageThe AU ReviewMusic FeedsAustralian Music Scene and The Music. The band have also seen extensive Australian radio support from triple jDouble JRadio Adelaide4ZZZ2BBBAussie Music Weekly and 2XX FM.

Since their inception, Hey Geronimo have become a mainstay fixture on the Australian festival circuit with appearances at Big Day Out, Festival of the Sun, Homebake, The Big Pineapple Festival and Valley Fiesta. The band have also toured the country multiple times, selling out their own headline shows.

'Last Days' will be available worldwide on Friday August 20
