In Hearts Wake Share New Single 'Husk (Unplugged)' From 'Green Is The New Black' Out August 5th

Recently confirming the release of the official soundtrack for their powerful documentary Green Is The New Black, due out on August 5 via UNFD, today Northern Rivers heavy-hitters In Hearts Wake have unveiled yet another glimpse into what's to come via an unplugged version of their grunge-tinged 2020 ballad Husk.

A ukulele-laden re-imagining of its predecessor, which featured on Kaliyuga, the group's 2020 album, Husk (Unplugged) retains the ballad essence of the original while showcasing a creamy and stripped-back version of In Hearts Wake.

As to the evolution of Husk (Unplugged), In Hearts Wake vocalist Jake Taylor explains: "Kyle, our bassist, received a Ukulele for his birthday from his father Frank. When we were writing the soundtrack for our feature film ‘Green Is The New Black’, we couldn’t look past the idea of reimagining Husk as an unplugged track with the Uke as the feature instrument. All hail Frank!".

A glistening addition to the impending release of Green Is The New Black's official soundtrack on August 5, Husk (Unplugged) joins other tracks accompanying the documentary alongside some new songs written and produced specifically for the film. The digital release of the documentary will be made available at a later date.

Fans keen to catch Husk (Unplugged) and other new and old In Hearts Wake favourites won't have long to wait following the release of the new album Green Is The New Black, with the band gearing up for a 27-date Australian regional tour. Kicking off at Prince of Wales Hotel in Bunbury on Thursday 18 August, the tour will journey from Western Australia to the Northern Territory, regional Queensland, New South Wales, ACT, Victoria, Tasmania, South Australia and, finally, closing out on Saturday 22 October with a hometown show in Byron Bay at The Northern. Along for the ride on this epic run are RedHook, Pridelands and Banks Arcade, with one tree planted for every ticket purchased via Ticket Seed as well as In Hearts Wake pledging to offset 150% of the carbon emissions on the tour.
