NEW ALBUM
LOST THEMES III: ALIVE AFTER DEATH
SET FOR RELEASE FEBRUARY 5 VIA SACRED BONES RECORDS
Ahead of the release of his first album of non-soundtrack music in nearly five years, John Carpenter has shared a final pre-release single and accompanying video.
“Alive After Death” is a brooding, suspenseful embodiment of the exhilarating, spine-chilling, story-telling aesthetics that have established Carpenter as an iconic legend of both music and film. The song is accompanied by an animated video by legendary illustrator Boneface - a bold collaboration between two truly unmistakably unique creative minds that fully fleshes out unsettling world hinted at in the previously released visualiser for the demonic disco of prior single “The Dead Walk”.
The impending full length, Lost Themes III: Alive After Death, is set for release on February 5th via Sacred Bones. John famously called the first Lost Themes album “a soundtrack for the movies in your mind.”.
On Alive After Death those movies are rendered even more vividly as the trio (fleshed out by longtime collaborators Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies) reach a new level of creative mind meld after years of touring and composing, building rich worlds in the interplay between Davies’s guitar and the duelling synthesisers played by the Carpenters.
