Joshua Moriarty, frontman of Miami Horror and one-third of Melbourne cinematic trio TELENOVA, today shares a new single under his self-titled solo project. Written and produced between Los Angeles and Melbourne 'Let Me Down Easy' is a duet with acclaimed singer, songwriter and composer Coco Reilly - LISTEN HERE

Produced by ARIA award-winning Tony Buchen (The Preatures, Smashing Pumpkins), ‘Let Me Down Easy’ entwines the two vocalist’s worlds, creating a whimsical and nostalgic presence that enlightens its listeners and transports them to another place in time.

“The chorus and melody came to me while I was working in a kitchen one day." says Josh, "The rest of the songwriting was finished in LA with Coco. It's a morbidly romantic love song, they've always been a favourite of mine.”

On working with Tony on the production, Josh explains, "We decided we wanted something ominous lingering in the background, so we came up with that dissonant string part to lurk in the shadows. Scott Walker was the biggest influence on this track, I bloody love that big old weirdo.”

Following his debut solo record War Is Over and the mostly instrumental full-length, ‘Romantica’, the transformative new single signals a return to form for the multi-instrumentalist as his vocal returns to the forefront.

In addition to his many musical projects, Josh hosts the music podcast 'The Bottom Of It', where he's candidly interviewed members of Queens Of The Stone Age, DEVO, Grizzly Bear, Jet, Lady Hawke, and his recent collaborator Coco Reilly

Moriarty is an artist inspired by the classics, both contemporary and traditional. Over the 15 years of his musical career, he’s graced the stages of Coachella, Live-Out Mexico City, Breakfast Colombia, Big Day Out, Groovin’ The Moo, Summadayze and plenty more.
