Brisbane's indie-pop songstress, Lucy Korts, released her heart-wrenching single 'Gone' on February 4, revealing her intense vulnerability, enchanting vocals and empowering aura.
Wearing her heart on her sleeve she is now pairing that with the solemn music video directed by Aaron Smittaeus Smith, which sees Korts letting her pain-drenched lyrics out, depicting those moments when it feels like the heart is breaking.
Moving through an empty home that feels cold and gloomy, Korts despairingly grieves a relationship that took its toll. Written about the gut-wrenching pain of being hurt by someone, the music video is an intimate visual accompaniment that exudes vulnerability, pure honesty and utter despair.
Lucy Korts speaks on her intent with the music video:
"I wanted to create a visual story for 'Gone' that showed what it was like to have a glamorous and "put together" appearance even though your reality is actually heartbreak and pain."
Despite its darkened theme, the clip feels elegant, strung up in a red ribbon, that inspires that strength and resilience which is required to move through these rough times.
