MASON WATTS SHARES NEW SINGLE 'ENOUGH'S ENOUGH' + VIDEO OUT NOW
Mason Watts today releases his latest single ‘Enough’s Enough’ a painstakingly honest ballad that sees him come face to face with a love gone awry, as he continues to establish himself as an artist who openly embraces his vulnerability and pain. LISTEN HERE
Opening with the line ‘I see you stare back at me as you walk out the door’, Mason immediately pulls at our heartstrings. Singing over delicate and piano-driven pop production, the 21-year-old builds to a crescendo as he comes to the conclusion ‘How do you know when enough’s enough?’.
Mason says about the track “When I first started writing “Enough’s Enough" I was overwhelmed with emotions; I found myself conflicted in deciding the fate of a failing relationship. The song brings out that internal battle of loving someone who you're constantly fighting with and who is treating you poorly, whilst also identifying the pain involved with leaving a person who, despite everything you still love.”

‘Enough’s Enough’ was produced and co-written by South African-born producer Robby De Sá, who boasts an impressive catalogue of artists including 5 Seconds of Summer, Gretta Ray and The Veronicas. " 'Enough's Enough’ was our first time working together! We immediately hit it off, basically writing the whole track in a single session. After months of jamming out to the demo, I can’t wait to share this track with the world" shares Mason.
Alongside the single, Mason shares a poignant music video directed by Digby Hogan and filmed in the iconic Lyric Theatre in Brisbane. Featuring Bridget Webb as Mason’s leading lady, this emotional performance is a complex insight into ‘Enough’s Enough. Digby says “It’s our “real-life” version of Mason come to watch his own rendition of the way it always ends, how he always is and how it just never works. He ponders, Is it because of him?”
Digby delves deeper into what the video represents:
“The song had so much weight to it when I listened to it for the first time. To be able to put a visual tone to these lyrics was a pleasure and more so an honour. A relationship can sometimes feel like you’re living the same argument, a roundabout and moment in time that feels forever. I wanted to convey that with this visual story - and such this idea was born".
Since his signing to City Pop Records, Mason Watts has been busy working, spending the majority of his time in the studio honing his songwriting craft and ability. ‘Enough’s Enough’ is the follow up to singles ‘Sanctuary’ and ‘Recovery', with the former added to Nova, Hit (Metro) and Hit (Regional) commercial radio stations across the board and amassing over 400K streams after really resonating with listeners all over the country.
