French-Irish Alternative Metal prospects MOLYBARON are gearing up for the release of their powerhouse new album 'The Mutiny, out tomorrow Friday 21st May.
Following the release of their lead single 'Animals', MOLYBARON have revealed another offering in the form of the poignant, heart-wrenching song 'AMONGST THE BOYS AND THE DEAD FLOWERS', a tribute to the documentary 'They Shall Not Grow Old, by Peter Jackson that commemorates the centennial of the end of the war.
Gary Kelly says this about the song, which has arguably one of the most emotional vocal performances on the album.
"Amongst The Boys And The Dead Flowers is a song inspired by the Peter Jackson documentary, They Shall Not Grow Old. A colourised and remastered collection of footage from the First World War, that brought the young soldiers’ faces and harrowing stories to life. The lyrics state this song is an 'Ode To The Fallen Hero, Trapped in the Firing Line'. That's exactly what it is about"
An emotive and urgent performance is given throughout the whole body of music by frontman Gary Kelly, whose ascending and haunting vocals paint themselves effortlessly over the proficient, technical and groove-laden musicianship displayed by the other band members. Gary Kelly speaks about the personal nature of the lyrical themes of the album, saying
“The theme of many of the lyrics in MOLYBARON’s debut album were highly influenced by the hysteria surrounding the 2016 US election and the corporate owned mainstream media fanning the flames. This time around I wanted to bring it closer to home and make the narrative easier to write about, so many of the lyrics are pretty personal to me, or people close to me. The overriding theme of the songs describe the uphill struggle to overcome mental health issues - depression, guilt, drug and alcohol use.“

The band's three previous singles, Lucifer, Twenty Four Hours (feat. Whitfield Crane, Ugly Kid Joe) and Something For The Pain, have gained over 1.3 million streams on Spotify and can now be announced as a part of ‘The Mutiny’.
MOLYBARON arrived on the scene in mid 2017, with the release of their eponymous debut album. On its release, the album was widely praised by critics. 'RockHard' magazine named MOLYBARON 'Best Discovery Act of 2017'.
In a short time, the band have played many notable concerts, including the legendary Elysée Montmartre in Paris, Metal Days Festival, Slovenia and a thirteen date European tour with A Pale Horse Named Death (ex Type O Negative) in late 2019.
