Introducing Andrew Lambrou, the latest signing to independent label City Pop records and his debut single ‘Throne’, a dark and compelling debut that sees the young singer-songwriter signalling his arrival as an up-and-coming pop heavyweight.

I can call this home, now I hold my own, sitting on my throne

A line sung with retrospective reflection, Andrew Lambrou acknowledges how his experiences have led him to this moment. Produced by Dave Hammer (Genesis Owusu, Lime Cordiale, Mia Rodriguez, JEFFE) Lambrou’s vocals take centre stage on Throne, rich vocal harmonies layered over a gritty thumping bass line showcases Lambrou’s international sound and calls to mind superstars such as ZAYN and The Weeknd.

Andrew says about the track "This song is about taking matters into your own hands and visualising what you want to achieve in life, foreseeing yourself at the top before your goals are achieved “sitting on my throne” and never letting go of that self-belief that you can do it!"

Alongside the single release, Andrew Lambrou has today released the official video for Throne.
Directed by Josh Harris (Peach PRC, Gang Of Youths, Kira Puru, Mia Rodriguez) and filmed in Melbourne the video for Throne was influenced by Lambrou’s love of all things cinematic.

The music video for Throne symbolises breaking free and being your true self. The message of the song was intended to inspire people that anything can be achieved in life with a strong mindset and confidence in your ability. I hope people interpret this video in their own way that can relate to themselves, and know that no one is ever sheltered by the words or actions of others, but only by the comfort of their own mind.” - Andrew Lambrou

Finding he was most comfortable behind a piano, With the support of his loving extended Greek heritage family, Andrew began honing his craft at a young age and performing whatever chance he had. It seemed a natural progression to begin uploading his music to social media and began growing what would become a 1.5 million strong following across Tik Tok, Instagrm and Youtube.

It was this innate ability and passion that captured the attention of Australian publisher Sony ATV who signed the then 17-year-old and provided opportunities to write with like-minded musicians and helped him to discover his sound  “This was not an easy process, but as I kept writing, I dug deeper and deeper to find what makes my music ‘me’... I found that being myself, taking the influences I love in my life and writing them down, partnered with the style of melodies that are natural to me was the key” Lambrou says. It is this unadulterated authenticity coupled with Lambrou’s instinctive musicality that sets Andrew Lambrou apart from the hordes of social media musicians and establishes him as a genuine force to be reckoned with.

The newest signing to independent label City Pop Records, Andrew Lambrou joins an exciting and dynamic roster alongside Mia Rodriguez and Mason Watts. Lambrou shares “I’m beyond excited to have found my new music family with City Pop. It’s taken time to find myself as an artist, and I’ve never felt more ready. The song Throne has a deeply personal message to me, highlighting the fact that you can really do anything if you put your mind to it. I can’t wait to release it to the world, with hopes to inspire people with the music I create.”

Andrew Stone, Head of Music says of the signing “We’re so excited to launch Andrew Lambrou with City Pop Records. He’s making exciting and forward-thinking pop music and is a superstar in the making.
