Sammy Honeysett Unveils Fiery New Single 'I C UR LIPS' And Announces Debut EP

Sydney-based singer-songwriter Sammy Honeysett has just revealed her ferocious new single ‘I C UR LIPS’ and announced her debut EP ‘Queen of Wands’ – produced by Jack Nigro (Julia Jacklin, Middle Kids, DMA’s).
Inviting the listener with the delicate build of pulsating bass and swelling drums, ‘I C UR LIPS’ hurtles into its steadfast choruses, led by Sammy’s unrelenting energy and effortless poise. As the track unfolds, Sammy delivers an exquisite drawn-back bridge, before launching into a cathartic, impassioned finale.
Sammy talks about the meaning behind ‘I C UR LIPS’:
“I remember when I started off the song, I was reading break up messages and helping my girlfriend through it and I just remember her saying ‘I just don’t get how they could be so cold!’ and it started, it hit me. I knew what she was talking about through experience and went home with this angry feeling about the situation and poured it into this song.”
To coincide with the release, Sammy performed a one-off launch party at Waywards at The Bank Hotel in Newtown, Sydney. This continues on from a slew of sold-out dates across NSW, including her debut at Low Bar Sydney, The Bridge Hotel, Rozelle and four shows at The Chippo Hotel.
Set for release in early April, ‘Queen of Wands’ showcases Sammy’s innate ability to blend vibrant indie-rock with biting lyricism, taking cues from luminaires Maddy Jane, Ali Barter and Donna Missal, while creating something wholly her own.
In the coming weeks, Sammy Honeysett will reveal an accompanying music video for ‘I C UR LIPS’.
