Sydney-based pop-punk quartet SoSo have just revealed their heartfelt new single ‘Skywriter’ – produced and mixed by Stevie Knight (Stand Atlantic, RedHook, Yours Truly).
‘Skywriter’ is four minutes of bittersweet pop-punk, punctuated by intense drums, searing guitars and the impassioned vocals of lead singer Rhys de Burgh. The track takes an uplifting turn, as a key change transforms the last chorus, hurtling towards a wholly satisfying ending.
Lead singer Rhys de Burgh talks about the inspiration behind ‘Skywriter’:
“It’s easy to become disillusioned and assume you’re alone in times of tragedy. Understand that it’s a shared experience everyone can relate to regardless of social status, age, circumstances etc…’Skywriter’ is a gentle reminder that we’re not alone in that experience and I think that sometimes, that's reason enough to wake up each morning.”
Previous singles have been widely embraced by Spotify and Apple Music, and Australian radio stations triple j, triple j Unearthed, 4ZZZ, Aussie Music Weekly, 89.7 FM and 96.5 Inner FM. They’ve also seen support from online blogs Blunt Magazine, Hysteria Magazine, HEAVY Mag, The AU Review, The Soundcheck, Something You Said, Sounds of Oz and AAA Backstage.
