Sydney-based pop-punk quintet SoSo have just revealed their assertive new single ‘Yeah Nah’ - produced by Stevie Knight (Trophy EyesStand AtlanticYours Truly) and mixed by James Paul Wisner (Hands Like HousesUnderoath).

‘Yeah Nah’ finds SoSo at their most forthright, diving headfirst into social commentary surrounding Sydney’s lockout laws and drug enforcement policies, through the use of quintessential Australianisms and gratifying pop-punk. The track frantically races and builds to its climatic, rambunctious bridge that delivers the anthemic line of rebellion “we all know you're fucking liars”!

Lead singer Rhys de Burgh talks about the inspiration behind ‘Yeah Nah’:

“'Yeah Nah' originated as a bit of a joke song and ended up a rebellious, energetic earworm. The track is a big call out of the shitty lockout laws that killed so many Sydney music venues, archaic drug enforcement policies and the true enemy of live music – poker machines. Fuck pokies.”

To coincide with the release, the band supported mates RedHook at La La La’s in Wollongong, before performing ‘Yeah Nah’ launch shows at the Rhythm Hut in the Central CoastThe Lansdowne Hotel in Sydney and Diamond Dogs Music Lounge in Dapto. Due to the worldwide pandemic, SoSo only played their first live show in November 2020, but have since supported Sydney contemporaries These New South WalesFANGZ and Down For Tomorrow.

Previous singles have been widely embraced by Spotify and Apple Music, and Australian radio stations triple jtriple j Unearthed4ZZZSYN FMAussie Music Weekly89.7 FM and 96.5 Inner FM. They’ve also seen support from online blogs NME (AUS), Life Without AndyBlunt MagazineHysteria MagazineHEAVY MagThe AU Review and The Soundcheck.
