'TEMPLE OF DOON' - The Latest Album From Dear Doonan - OUT TODAY!
16 April 2020|ALBUM/SINGLE RELEASES
‘TEMPLE OF DOON’ is the long-awaited second album from, DEAR DOONAN.
Following up from Dear Doonan’s debut self-titled album, the boys have satisfied their recurring itch to produce a heavily instrumental, psychedelic world album, titled ‘Temple of Doon’.
The band draws influence predominantly from the 1960-70’s era of surf rock, pop, psychedelia, raga rock, afrobeat and Turkish psych. Zachariah Norton fronts the band with an array of musical instruments complimentary to his diverse range of compositions – Leading with the sitar, Turkish bağlama, Dojo, and Banjo. The remaining disciples interweave the lead rolls with drums, guitar, horn, flute, percussion, bass and vocals.
‘Temple Of Doon’ will take you on a kaleidoscopic journey through love, lost time and dreams far from your reality. Due to the bands' decision to keep the album primarily instrumental, songlines are replaced by chanting and mantras to accompany their exploration into the abundant melodic, riff-heavy and rhythmic layout of the songs.
The album mirrors the members alternate surroundings, lifestyle and fantasies and was produced under the expertise of Paulie Bromley, and one the band’s multi-instrumentalists, Steve Summers, helping Dear Doonan achieve their vintage analogue desires.
‘Temple of Doon’ provides a perspective and direction of future things to come from Dear Doonan.
