Wolf & Chain's Narrative Continues With New Music Video For 'An Unfortunate Tale of Two Lovers and an Insatiable Taste for Poison'
Following on from the narrative that Wolf & Chain established in the 'Taste of Blood' music video which was released in August, the Adelaide emo/ punk-rock outfit are dropping their thrilling and grandiose music video for 'An Unfortunate Tale of Two Lovers and an Insatiable Taste for Poison'.
Ahead of the imminent release of their EP 'Amor Mortal', Wolf & Chain have been luring fans in with their bloodthirsty narratives, lore and natural love for dramatism and theatrics. Frontman Jack Cumes speaks on the making of the video clip:
"The video gives insight into the backstory of this tale, how the two characters get mixed up in this madness and become these great opposing forces. It brings the themes from the song and translates them into this dirty, fantastical vampire story. It was really exciting for us to explore other ideas from our collection on 'Amor Mortal' in this world and do something grand and atmospheric."
Kicking off from the end of 'Taste of Blood' where the protagonist (Cumes) had been taken captive, he is thrown to his knees and revealed in front of a shrouded, cult-like vampire gang. Mixed up in this vampire feud, he is beaten down by an ominous, yet familiar woman. Meanwhile, help is on its way as the troops gather and make their way to the grim warehouse district.
Deviating from the songs explosiveness with the Spanish-inspired acoustic guitar ballad there is a romantic flash-back, revealing the deep relationship and back-story of Cumes and this mysterious cult leader. Coming out of his daydream in this moment of shocking realisation, help arrives leading to an all-out brawl and an ill-fated ended.
With their enticing emo-goth theatrics and grim takes on fairytales, Wolf & Chain are showing their fangs before they go in for the kill on October 29 with 'Amor Mortal'
