HERETIC, the debut single from Australian actor and singer Adam Noviello, is here!

Celebrating gender queerness, and all gender nonconforming humans, Heretic is the new pop/ dance anthem set to ignite hearts, minds and dance floors. Heretic will be released by Global League Records on January 19th 2022 on all major streaming platforms with an accompanying music video featuring a cast entirely made up of non-binary/gender fluid/transgender/gender nonconforming humans.

The lead singer of former Melbourne indie-pop band NOVELLO, and more recently as the featured artist on the Chantboys track ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’, Heretic serves as Adam’s debut single as a solo artist.

Best known for their work on Australian stages, having starred in national and international production tours including Matilda The Musical, Priscilla: Queen of the Desert & Chess The Musical (to name a few), Adam is making their explosive return to the music scene.

Heretic represents Adam’s celebration of their gender queerness. Lyrically the song speaks of Adam’s former feelings of betraying the gender they were assigned. Not fitting to the mould of what a “boy” is expected to be. To combat these feelings, and the societal voices contributing to them, Heretic says, “I’m here. I’m fierce. I am.”

Heretic is set to be released with an accompanying music video directed and shot by Sean Higgins featuring a cast entirely made up of humans living on the gender spectrum. A slick design with dynamic choreography, the Heretic video has proudly assembled what has been coined the “They/Them Squad”, made up of people identifying as either gender non-binary, genderqueer, gender fluid or transgender.

Adam will also debut the track for an exclusive LIVE performance on January 23rd at Melbourne’s 2022 Midsumma Carnival.

About Adam Noviello

Adam Noviello is an Australian actor and singer, known for their multi-faceted and versatile career.

Having conquered various arenas of the entertainment industry, 2021 sees Adam making their debut as a solo music artist with their pop/dance anthem 'Heretic'.

Adam began their career in musical theatre, making their professional debut in 2014 as Hanna From Hamburg in The Production Company's hit adaptation of La Cage Aux Folles.

They have since enjoyed success touring both Australia and internationally in various productions including playing Derek Bell in The Girlie Show (La Mama Theatre/Tunks Productions), Funny Girl (The Production Company) Matilda The Musical (RSC/Louise Withers & Associates), playing Farrah & Young Bernadette in the 10th Anniversary Australian Tour of Priscilla: Queen of the Desert (Michael Cassel Group) Charlie and the Chocolate Factory The Musical (GFO), The Muse - A Song Cycle (Melbourne Fringe Festival) Chess The Musical (StoreyBoard Entertainment) and The Who’s Tommy (Victorian Opera).

Adam is also the co-author, co-producer, and lead actor in Australian feature film 'Spencer', (Directed by Martyn Park), which made its world premiere as the Opening Night Feature Film in the PRIDE Queer Film Festival 2020, winning ‘Best Picture - People’s Choice Award’.

Spencer went on to play the 2020 My True Colours Festival in New York City, before being considered for the 2020 AACTA Awards.

In 2021, Adam featured on Chanyboy’s single 'It’s A Wonderful Life'. The track’s music video, produced by Adam, currently sits at 19k views on YouTube.
