Introducing Local The Neighbour and their debut single, ‘Cancel Me’. The first offering from the new project out of Melbourne/Naarm is a grainy yet polished slice of indie-rock and a commentary on relationships delivered straight to the listener.

Of both Taiwanese and Australian heritage, Local The Neighbour is the persona of David Quested, a Melbourne based musician originally from Larrakia/Darwin, NT. After moving to Melbourne to study the cultish art of jazz drumming, he became infatuated with the love of self-expression and boundary-less creativity found in the art form. Since then he has performed with ARIA award-winning jazz musicians, studied in both New York and Los Angeles with jazz giants, and toured internationally as a sideman.

Armed with a wealth of musical insight, from his work as a touring musician and producer (for both himself and other artists), drawing influence from the likes of Bon Iver, Alex G, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra, Local The Neighbour delivers his ultimate musical passion - DIY indie rock, written in his bedroom, lounge or backyard. Local the Neighbour strives to be an approachable musical companion for anyone undergoing a hard time and needing a friend.
