Not A Boys Name releases electric new single 'Psychopath'
Sydney Artist NOT A BOYS NAME has today released his latest single ‚Psychopath’. Born out of an unlikely collaboration with Tasker (Okenyo, Dante Knows, Pleasure Coma), NOT A BOYS NAME latest release is about “Gaslighting, manipulation and the awful feeling that you are being taken advantage of”.
Inspired by a maniacal acquaintance that Jenkins Jr had been working closely with that almost lead him to give up music for good.
“I thought I was going insane” says Jenkins Jr. “It was not until I got some perspective and spent time away with my friends that I was able to realise that I was being manipulated”.
Laced with psychotic fuzz guitars, frantic drum fills and a heavy bass line, the music itself evokes memories of Talking Heads, Early MGMT, and the eccentric forgotten 80’s music you hear in underground clubs in the early hours of the morning.
‘Psychopath’ marks a shift in NOT A BOYS NAME production and musical evolution. A clear step into the future of twisted indie/pop music that will have you moving no matter what.
‘Psychopath’ is the most latest release from NOT A BOYS NAME and follows ‘Fuck It Up’ featuring the enigmatic Bec Sandridge. Following the release of ‘Fuck It Up’, NOT A BOYS NAME was also chosen as a finalist for Happy Mag’s ‘Need In The Hay’ competition.
