Melbourne’s Tyler Millott - aka The Terrifying Lows - has been revelling in the release of his captivating new single ‘Everywhere You Go (There You Are)’, a striking effort from the indemand instrumentalist. Since releasing his debut single ‘Cool With It’ back in 2018, The Terrifying Lows has been consistently working on creating a formidable body of work, the latest entry coming to life with the artist’s second offering for 2020: ‘Running Slow’.

As with his previous release The Terrifying Lows has embraced and explored the darker fringes of indie-rock with a dedicated love for rhythms and melody. Hypnotic bass and drums meet symphonic guitars as Millott’s voice wraps itself around all enticingly. One for fans of the more melancholic model of alternative guitar based music, ‘Running Slow’ straddles the line between beauty and chaos with the lyrical content depicting a state of depression in the pursuit of happiness. “...settled... I know... It’s all you want... but from the load you tow... you’re running slow... sinking low”

‘Running Slow’ had Millott working out of Melbourne’s Aviary Studios with producer Josh Barber (Gretta Ray) and engineer Stephen Mowatt (Ali Barter), before it made its way to Nashville where Kyle Dreaden (Bre Kennedy) mixed the final cut. Mastered by Joe Carra (POND) at Crystal Mastering, the song was in the hands of a veritable dream team.

And as The Terrifying Lows continues to establish himself as not only an accomplished session player but also an alluring song writer on Melbourne’s rock circuit, ‘Running Slow’ is an impressive follow up to his September release and an exciting addition to a brand new chapter for the artist. With years of experience behind him as a session/touring musician for artists including Ali Barter, Husky and Ben Wright Smith, Millott’s solo work as The Terrifying Lows is setting him apart.
