Having spent the past three years touring Australia and abroad, supporting the likes of Trash Boat (US), The Hard Aches (AU) & Windwaker (AU), Worse For Wear are now home and raring to present their anthemic new single ‘We Got This’.

‘We Got This’ represents an honest reflection of the fluctuations of any relationship, with the heart-on-their-sleeves three piece not withholding any emotion.

“The song was written in relation to my wife and the team we form as a couple” says frontman Curtis Heinz. “It’s an honest reflection of how we as people can be at times, a testament to the promise you make your partner, to see each other through thick and thin” he continues.

Worse For Wear worked closely with producer Nick Wilkinson (We Set Signals) to take the song from its rawest form, to the polished version heard today. “Nick brought heaps to the table,” says Heinz. “From curating backing melodies, to adding ideas instrumentally. The sound he produces was right up our alley, so it was a no brainer”.

With dreams of playing new venues, new cities and new faces this year, Worse For Wear are looking to “lay a solid foundation to further grow our fan base and us as a band”.

‘We Got This’ is their first stepping stone on the path to actualisation in 2021.

ABOUT WORSE FOR WEAR

Worse For Wear are an Australian punk rock trio, embodying a DIY attitude with heart-on-their-sleeves lyrics, energetic refrains and nostalgic riffs.

Releasing their debut EP ‘Empty Eyes’ in 2014, they immediately hit the east coast of Australia, touring with Drawcard, Nerdlinger & Concrete Surfers. Subsequent US College Radio play saw Worse For Wear reach LA for a promotional run and showcase at the famed ‘Whisky a Go Go’.

2016 would see the band perform their debut headliner in Brisbane. A SOLD-OUT performance at their infamous ‘Seasick’ festival, an annual rock music event at sea, showcasing the best in QLD punk & rock. Throughout 2017, more opportunities arose, seeing them play with Trash Boat (US), The Hard Aches & Windwaker.

This year the band is focusing on their craft, having headed into the studio with Nick Wilkinson (We Set Signals) to record their debut LP. With nods to genre stalwarts Crime In Stereo & Hot Water Music, the album blends nostalgic riffs with stanzas and melodies tackling modern punk rock in the vein of The Story So Far, Lifetime & Basement.
