Continuing from her warmly received 2021 release ‘Sippin’, Sydney-based producer Forward Fox has just returned with her exhilarating new single ‘Ravestar’ - produced by the artist herself and mixed and mastered by Brendan Zacharias (Cirrus Audio).
Set in motion by its hurtling beat, weighty kick drums and deft hi-hats, ‘Ravestar’ is a bundle of vivacious club euphoria that’s clocked tastemaker DJ support from Lane 8, Tini Gessler, Ruben Mandolini and LP Giobbi ahead of release. Rambunctious synth bass and vibrant samples attach to the exquisitely layered mix as Forward Fox creates a rhythmic smorgasbord that elegantly crescendos and decrescendos.
Forward Fox talks about the meaning behind ‘Ravestar’:
“Recently, I went through a period of feeling uninspired writing dance music. It somehow felt inauthentic and forced when I’d try to write it. With dance music being consumed differently during the pandemic, I instead became inspired by the creative process itself instead of being motivated by the final product and the environment within which it would be consumed. I found it liberating to pursue an idea without feeling obligated to follow a certain formula or ‘vibe’. As such, I feel ‘Ravestar’ is a dance track representative of these unprecedented times in a rapidly changing world.”
To accompany the release, Forward Fox will be performing at Torch Fest at The Factory Theatre in April. She has previously performed at festivals such as BIGSOUND, Groovin’ The Moo and Wine Machine and previously supported NYXEN on her sold-out Australian tour in 2019.
Forward Fox is the new exciting project from Siobhan Krelle. Her previous work under the name FLUIR received immense support from triple j, where she received high rotation for her single ‘Only One’, and Spotify where her debut release ‘I’ve Gotta Have You’ peaked at #9 on the Viral AU/NZ charts, before being placed in MYER and DoorDash commercials.
Siobhan has co-written club tracks with Sam Littlemore (PNAU), Luke Million (etcetc) and Maison Ware (mau5trap), which have gone on to surpass millions of streams and receive airplay on KIIS FM, The Edge 96.ONE and SCA. Her collab with Jordan Burns, ‘I Want U’, peaked at #9 in the ARIA Club Charts.
