MINIQ - Reveal Tranquil New Single 'Space Cowboy'
SUPPORT FOR 'SPACE COWBOY'
"A smoldering, seductive love song, MINIQ’s 'Space Cowboy' offers a cinematic take on an unexpected, thrilling romance – the kind that sweeps you off your feet."
- Atwood Magazine (USA)
Following on from their critically praised debut single ‘Little Miss No. 1’, NSW Central Coast-based indie-rock duo MINIQ have just unveiled their compelling new single ‘Space Cowboy’ - produced and mixed by Simon Dobson (Bootleg Rascal, Little May, Stupid Baby) and mastered by Brian Lucey (Arctic Monkeys, The Kills, The Black Keys).
Opening with serene guitars and driven by the dulcet vocals of lead singer Dominque Morgan, ‘Space Cowboy’ is an effortless slice of brooding indie-rock. Fierce basslines and mesmerising melodies intertwine as the track creates an escalating fervour, before elegantly coming to its satisfying conclusion.
Dominique talks about the meaning behind ‘Space Cowboy’:
“I was in a pretty toxic relationship that I finally ended and with no intention I met this Space Cowboy who swept me off my feet. Space Cowboy was his nickname because he was always getting loose and partying hard and for that reason, I thought that when we met it was nothing serious. In my head, he was hot and I was single but now, two years later here we are running a business together, saving for a house and are happy as Larry.“
Debut single ‘Little Miss No. 1’ was widely embraced by tastemaker blogs Pilerats, Project U, The Soundcheck, AAA Backstage, The Australian Music Scene and Little Indie Blogs (UK). The track also received support from Australian radio stations FBi, 4ZZZ, Radio Adelaide and Triple H.
In the live arena the duo have already supported the likes of Xavier Rudd, Mama Kin and Steve Balbi (Noiseworks), and plan to tour Australia’s east coast once the lockdown restrictions are lifted.
MINIQ consists of sisters Isabelle and Dominique Morgan, who have been performing together since they were nine years old. Taking inspiration from luminaires Queens of the Stone Age, Nick Cave and Lana Del Rey, the duo have crafted a unique blend of indie-pop and rock, with further releases on the horizon for 2021.
