Byron-based newcomer Mvlholland (Grace Mulholland) returns with second offering, ‘But I Like It’. The striking new single details experiences of living among addiction and what it means to keep seeking out a new feeling from the familiar highs that just don’t cut it anymore. The track is available everywhere today along with a new lyric video, listen/watch HERE.

Mvlholland shares: "‘But I Like It’ is about a form of addiction. It could be a person, a substance, a moment, anything. It’s about being aware that the way you feel is unhealthy and the dependency you have is alarming, but almost falling into it and not caring anymore because f*ck it."

But I Like It’ marks a stellar follow up to debut single ‘83’, which was also penned alongside main collaborator and producer, Lachlan Bostock (of Mansionair). ‘83’ won praise from new fans and media alike including triple j (added to spot rotation at the station), 10 MagazinePilerats and Life Without Andy, who all tipped Mvlholland as an exciting new artist to watch. The track also bagged placement in coveted playlists via Spotify (New Music Friday, Pop N Fresh, The Local List), Apple Music (New Music Daily, A List Pop, Breaking Pop), Amazon (Brand New Music), and YouTube (ANZ Spotlight Shelf).

With a forthcoming debut project on the way, there’s heaps more exciting stuff to come from Mvlholland. Stay tuned.

ABOUT MVLHOLLAND

Grace Mulholland grew up between New York, L.A, London and Australia before her family settled in Bali. She first began writing songs and singing at age 11. Soon, acting would pique her interest and she’d immerse herself in characters before realising that fitting someone else’s idea wasn’t as fun as taking control of her own narrative and molding it into new shapes. Grace says: “I realised I could write my own music and I could make my own perfect role and I could do it all”. Her parents – a model and hairdresser who she says, “lived the full nineties New York rockstar life” before she came along – have always provided endless encouragement and plenty of inspiration. Living in Bali, the family continually had people coming and staying in the house. Those visitors included Divinyls frontwoman Chrissy Amphlett, who taught Grace to sing I Touch Myself at age five. Grace adds: “I was around very influential and powerful musicians and it just kinda made me feel like it wasn’t impossible”.
