Silky Roads - Unveil Alluring New Single 'Pomegranate'
SUPPORT FOR 'POMEGRANATE'
"Sydney-based quartet Silky Roads blend glamor and grit to produce 'Pomegranate', a funky psych-rocker with the darkness and mystery of R-rated cinema a la Quentin Tarantino."
- Atwood Magazine (USA)
Sydney-based indie-rock quartet Silky Roads has just revealed their tantalizing new single ‘Pomegranate’ - produced and mixed by Yossif Kay.
Opening with smooth, groove-laden bass lines and steadfast drums, ‘Pomegranate’ exudes effortless confidence through its lucid instrumentation, ethereal harmonies and the assertive vocals of lead singer Guy Richards. The bridge momentarily lightens the track's dynamics, before launching into a rousing final chorus.
Silky Roads talks about the inspiration behind ‘Pomegranate’:
"’Pomegranate’ was inspired by the art deco. The brooding and mysterious qualities Silky Roads aim to capture in ‘Pomegranate’ put you in a Tarantino-esque setting, trying to capture the darkness and mystery that hits that certain spot for music lovers."
While they’ve only been a band for a short period, Silky Roads have shown themselves to be a prolific up and comers, with ‘Pomegranate’ being their third single for 2020. The four songwriters take inspiration from the likes of Ocean Alley, Lime Cordiale and Mako Road, creating a unique blend of indie and psych-rock, with further releases on the horizon for 2021.
Previous releases ‘Green Eyed’ and ‘A Fool’s Paradise’ have seen support from Australian community radio stations FBi, RTR FM, PBS FM and Radio Adelaide.
‘Pomegranate’ is available worldwide now
