Billie Eilish Emerging from quarantine with her latest song “my future”.

This song is Eilish’s first Pandemic track written during quarantine and is a delicately crafted homage to introspection.

‘my future’ has that real dream like quality, a listen through has you halfway between being grounded in your own thoughts and your mind dissociating you off somewhere else in the atmosphere. The dreaminess of the track created with gorgeous keyboard and layered vocals.

The feeling of contemplation drips into hopefulness as the track sidesteps into a more mid tempo tune, raising the vibrancy and overall feel of the song.

She muses “I know supposedly I’m lonely now/ Know I’m supposed to be unhappy without someone/ But aren’t I someone” and what a line.

How this echoes the sentiment of so many and yet remains a personal triumph to independence and self worth.

The accompanying animated video is a really creative piece, the soft colour palette which merges to a more vibrant scheme, cleverly mimicking the fluctuations in the song really adding to the soul and feel of the release.
