Manson has outdone himself again with his brand new album “We Are Chaos”, which is his 11th Studio album and comes after 2017 release Heaven Upside Down. The album was produced by singer-songwriter Shooter Jennings with Manson himself and it also presents one of Manson’s self portraits on the cover. The artist is obviously known for his great sound and hard hitting tracks that feature clever lyrics and after releasing the title track, fans were definitely excited and intrigued to hear the rest of the album.

This album starts off with dark dialogue that will draw listeners in from “Red, Black and Blue” and then Manson’s unique vocals come in with a strong bass that builds up into a heavy guitar riff along with his vocals as he sings “Red, Black and Blue” before ramming into a heavy chorus that will hit your soul and is definitely such a great first track for the album. After this we are met with the titled track “We Are Chaos” which was released back in July as a tease to the album. This track starts off a lot slower with the sweet sounds of an acoustic guitar accompanied by Manson’s strong vocals but is still has powerful as his vocals crash through you from the first listen. “Don’t Chase The Dead” erupts with a hard drum beat that builds into a scream and will hit you like a hurricane. The guitar chords and the vocals go perfectly in this track, which makes it a highlight for the album. Listeners then get hit with another slower paced song as “Paint You With My Love” plays softly with gentle vocals from the artist along with leisurely instruments including acoustic guitar and piano. This track is certainly a well built one as it carries softness so well and then builds up into heavy screams towards the end that fans will appreciate.

Half-Way One Step Forward” is a real treat from start to finish as we are blessed with the gorgeous and somewhat gloomy notes of a piano followed by Manson’s vocals that haunt you and make you fall in love straight away before crashing into the static sounds of “Infinite Darkness”, which are highlighted by the haunting vocals, sweet guitar riffs and punchy rhythm underneath, holding the track together and as Manson hauntingly sings “You’re dead longer than you’re alive”, I get chills up my spine. The next two tracks, “Perfume” and “Keep My Head Together” are both packed full of sick guitar riffs, heavy rhythm sections and just that overall Manson sound that listeners love. Fans are then hit with a mellow intro of guitar and bass in “Solve Coagula” followed by a steady drum beat and softer vocals and slightly builds into the catchy chorus, while the last song of the album “Broken Needle” starts off with just the sweet sounds of an acoustic guitar and mellowed vocals that help isolate the lyrics and gives chills to the listener and then later adds a stronger rhythm section underneath everything.

This album is made up mostly of slower songs that I think fans will really appreciate and love. A lot of people will tell you that Manson’s older work is the best and that nothing can beat it, but I feel like through every new album from this artist we see a new side of him with his talented ways of creating engaging music from the fantastic instruments to the clever lyrics. “We Are Chaos” is a perfect album from the first to the last track and it just goes to show how much talent the artist has.
