If I had to describe GJOVA’s new song “One Lost Moment” in one word, it would be ‘hopeful’.

GJOVA is a solo artist who moved all the way from Husum (a small town in Germany) to Los Angeles, in order to fulfil his musical dreams. His determination and confidence is something that truly emanates from his music. He shares that with us in “One Lost Moment”.

Indeed, the song starts with a warm mix of synth and strings followed by the words “Plan for tomorrow...”.  A few notes later, a thumping kick drum invites us on a journey that will only get more intense as the song progresses. After a few more bars of crescendo drums and strings, the chorus hits us. Its many layers of strings, acoustic guitar and emotional vocals reminds me of bands like Imagine Dragons and Thirty Seconds to Mars. The lyrics are somewhere between nostalgic and hopeful, with GJOVA singing about “moments of facing adversity, breaking free from it, and leaving it all behind.”

The second verse retains most of the chorus’ excitement by being a bit more fast paced than the first chorus and then transitions nicely to a second chorus that is as big as the first one.

A section of this song that really got my attention was the bridge: a new layer of strings comes in and the chords it creates take the song to a new emotional level, both powerful and nostalgic.

After an epic outro, the song ends quietly with the vocal line “now I know, we are replaceable”. This sounds a bit less hopeful but somehow fits perfectly as an ending to the journey that this song has been.

Many talented musicians came together to create this song (it was even mixed by the legendary Steve Evetts (Poison The Well, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Cure…) and overall, it shows how collaboration and conviction make music possible.

For over ten years, GJOVA has effectively pursued a professional career in the global music industry as a professional artist and songwriter. Due to his successes and releases incredible tracks around the globe; several of these songs have been extremely successful, GJOVA toured throughout his career within Europe, USA, Brazil, Hong Kong, and Japan. Along with his new assignment, he now counts Los Angeles as a base from which to follow his musical talent and career even further.

All songs have been written and produced completely by GJOVA which shows an expansive knowledge not only of creating music but putting it all together as on. The songs characteristic heavyweights together with drummer Kenny Aronoff as well as Christopher Hornbrook, Blas Perez, and Josh Giroux who are all a part of Dhani Harrison’s band, son of George Harrison from the Beatles, just to name some.

The songs Pure Oxygen and Hurricane have been recorded at none aside from Sound City Studios (Neil Young, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, Grateful Dead, Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers, Nirvana, Kyuss, Rage Against The Machine, Tool, Slayer, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Johnny Cash, A Perfect Circle, Queens Of The Stone Age, Slipknot, Poison The Well, Nine Inch Nails, Metallica) in Los Angeles.

Music to me is the greatest joy I can have. It’s love, and I took high risks just for the pure sake of making music. We all have something to give and share, and it’s nothing less than the best of us. Now let’s go out there and create some greatness and beauty to inspire more of us

One Lost Moment is GJOVA’s introduction to kickoff his debut album Northern Son. The uptempo song is an interplay between melancholic alternative rock and indie pop tunes. Driven by an expansive sound, the song breaks out in a big mid-tempo finale. One Lost Moment dives into the journey of discovering oneself and dying to the old ways of experiencing life. It’s about the moments of facing adversity, breaking free from it, and leaving it all behind. American producer and mixing engineer Steve Evetts (Poison The Well, The Dillinger Escape Plan, The Cure) was responsible for the mixing and gave the song a big, deep, and warm sound that suits the song incredibly well. Collaborating with Steve Evetts is a teenage love story for GJOVA as Evetts produced records of bands that were the soundtrack to GJOVA’s youth. In order to give his songs a unique and refreshing sound, GJOVA collaborated with a host of talented musicians, producers, and artists.
