Song Review - LamBros - Why Wait

REVIEW BY: JADE GUIDA

A stripped back and intimate display of self-expression and musical magnificence, LamBros deliver a warm hug and supportive squeeze with their new track ‘Why Wait’.

They have curated this melodic masterpiece of seamlessly blended rock and folk which takes you journey of self-discovery and self-reflection. ‘Why Wait’ is a whirlwind of emotion, it is a captivating and expressive piece which demonstrates the full scope of Connor and Harry Lambrou’s talent and musical prowess.

This song goes beyond a piece of music, it is transformative and has that unearthly quality, which forces self-reflection.

This song forces you to delve into your deeper self, to explore your own consciousness and look at the intricacies of your own thought processes- this song is art. The thing I loved about this song is the story telling, this band weaves their narrative through beautiful melody and raspy folk guitar.

It is impassioned, sensitive and borderlines on dark in some sections as it explores humanities tendency to subscribe to ‘rat race’ culture. The song plunges into the complexity of needing to promote, progress and create art in the modern world.

What I enjoyed most about the songs concept is the relatability, this is such a flexible and wonderful piece of music that so many people could find comfort. The moody, raw vocals melding together with the musical brilliance is exceptional.

This band is a must listen to and this song is the hand holding support you need in 2022.

Bluesfest discovery artist LamBros announce new EP with belting rock anthem, “Why Wait”.

After their movie-moment debut at Bluesfest Byron Bay, Northern Beaches brothers, LamBros, have ramped up the heat with their newest single, “Why Wait”.

Aged 24 and 26 respectively, Connor and Harry Lambrou have fast-earned a reputation as one of Australia’s unmissable new live acts. Their whirlwind performances and hard-hitting songwriting have made for a career already jam-packed with musical milestones. Number one singles, a raft of sold-out shows, support spots with the likes of Tones and I, and Australia-wide festival appearances have given the independent brothers a wealth of experience both on and off the stage.

Merging rock, folk, blues, soul, funk, and singer-songwriter, Connor and Harry seamlessly blend genres through their unique use of sounds such as the didgeridoo, distorted acoustic guitar, raw vocals, and a thumping homemade hybrid drum-kit.

And in April 2022, they brought this live energy to a heaving crowd at Bluesfest, Byron Bay. The brothers performed to packed tents and won over scores of festival-goers.

“The energy was unreal. To be able to perform on one of the biggest stages in Australia was a dream come true for us, and an experience we’ll never forget.”

After making waves at the festival, the brothers headed straight back into the studio, and have pushed their sound further than ever before.

“Coming out of Covid, we were listening to a lot of heavy music. That raw energy, blazing guitar work, beating drums - it fuels a sense of determination, and really pumps you up. This is the energy we brought to the single.”

“’Why Wait’ tackles the subconscious pressure we feel from society to race through life and claw our way to the top. With so many artists and people searching for a short-cut, or viral moment, it has created a constant feeling of time ticking away, and without checking yourself, it can often lead to a sense of detachment.”

“Why Wait” is the first single from the upcoming EP of the same name. Listen to the new track on all streaming services now.
