Song Review - Saviour - Reshape Me

Heavy metal band, Saviour, released their newest smash hit Reshape Me at the end of November, with much anticipation. We’d known about it for quite some time, going way back to the beginning of the year, which seems like an eternity ago. It may have been a long wait, but it was well worth it.
The beginning is slow and moody, with light flicks of the guitar and trembling of keys. It isn’t long though until we hear Bryant Best absolute abuse the mic with his hardcore vocals which immediately grab your attention, to essentially say “listen to me!”; and the song truly begins. Shontay Snow compliments Best’s voice in making her own type of harmony throughout the chorus. And she comes in just at the right time, leading into a chorus of heartbreak. I think they have found a great sound for them since their last album, A Lunar Rose (released in Feb 2020), that has continued forward into Reshape Me.
Fans of heavy metal, even if you’re just starting out, I believe are going to love this track. It has all the elements you want from this sort of genre and Saviour have so much talent to give us. The vocals, that are absolutely belted, are insane! And speaking of insane, Best has no trouble hitting any high notes, without even faltering. I could feel my voice breaking just listening to it, but he kept on going. And the guitar riffs and thumping of the drums that they deliver are something else. They completely resonate alongside every word, enhancing their meaning and wrapping you up in their sound; the entire song just goes off.
Reshape Me caters to both fans of the genre and people that are just dipping their toes, not wanting to dive in just yet. I do recommend watching the music video too if you can, it really intensifies what they are trying to say. As the genre in itself is hard to understand at points (if you know what I mean), the video will certainly help lister hear the song better and not just hear the chorus.
