Wollongong's OK Hotel - "Life's Crazy" - Song Review
REVIEW BY: JADE GUIDA
Wollongong bases alt-rock three piece OK HOTEL dropped an absolute anthem of a track in Life’s crazy.
“Life’s Crazy” plays around with pop punk elements, while remaining true to its alt-rock core. This song pleads to be put on repeat with its high energy and gripping verses and 90s- feeling chorus. The track demands that you listen to it, the vocals have that aussie alt charm that refuses to be ignored.
The overall feel is somewhere between pop-punk, alt-rock and that dreamy 90s- surf rock. I can’t quite put my finger on this sound and that makes me love this band and song even more. It isn’t often that you hear a song and it just sits in neat little space of its own, growing in complexity, depth and bringing just an overall pleasure to the listener.
The amalgamation of so many classic and loveable elements, while highlighting their own natural flare. The accompanying video is delicious. Fun, light and highlights the bands oozing personality.
OK HOTEL are fucking glorious, get it, worship it and when the time comes lose your mind next to 100 sweaty bodies and mosh to this phenomenal tack.

MORE INFO:
Wollongong-raised alt-rock three piece OK Hotel have been steadily gaining local support up and down the east coast, supporting the likes of Pist Idiots, Ruby Fields, Horror My Friend, TOTTY, and more. While drawing influence from fuzz-fuelled 90’s bands like Smashing Pumpkins, the band’s hook-driven choruses cement them firmly in the present.
With an EP set for release later this year, the band revealed a first taste in February with the high-energy, grippingly melodic rock track, “Swim”, produced by Fletcher Matthews (Dear Seattle, STUMPS, Sweater Curse, CLEWS).
With two world-class singles now released, OK Hotel have firmly planted themselves in the category of Australian rock bands to watch.
