Danika ‘When Love Comes’ Melbourne & Sydney Shows 2021
‘When Love Comes’ features previous singles ‘Suit of Armour’ (2019), which drew an immediate response, with airplay on BBC6 and triple j. ‘Sweet Mellow D’ was premiered by Giles Peterson on BBC6. Its inclusion on Angus Andrews' (Liars) Listening to Australia playlist brought her to the ears of Endless Recordings, who went on to sign her and release her latest single, ‘If You Call My Name’.
Danika's indie-folk songwriting may bring to mind artists such as Cat Power, Aldous Harding or Julia Jacklin, but the inflections of soul and jazz separate her from these contemporaries. She has a unique ability to imbue her work with both earthy and otherworldly textures and complexities, which is wonderfully complemented on these recordings by Herrera’s innovative production.
October saw the release of ‘When Love Comes’, the debut EP release from Melbourne based singer-songwriter Danika, out via Endless Recordings.
To celebrate, Danika has announced two shows in Melbourne and Sydney next month.
