The Breeders Announce Australian Tour

Handsome Tours has just dropped exciting news for alt-rock aficionados - The Breeders are making their way back to Australia with a swift east coast tour scheduled for January 2024.

This iconic alt-rock band is all set to kick things off at the Enmore Theatre in Sydney on January 22nd. They'll then move to The Forum on the 29th and wrap up the tour at The Tivoli in Brisbane on the 31st. The last time Australian fans got a glimpse of The Breeders was back at Meredith 2018. These forthcoming tour dates are strategically timed, right before The Breeders embark on a colossal arena tour alongside Olivia Rodrigo in New York and Los Angeles. This stint guarantees a fresh generation of music enthusiasts will be enchanted by the band's magic for the very first time.

The Breeders, born from the creative minds of Kim Deal and Tanya Donelly (of Throwing Muses fame), started as a creative outlet and swiftly rose to prominence in the early '90s, leaving a lasting impact on the music landscape. Their big breakthrough arrived with their second album, "Last Splash," featuring the hit single "Cannonball." This 1993 release catapulted the band into the mainstream, achieving platinum status and even sharing the stage with the likes of Nirvana.

After a hiatus in 1995, The Breeders resurfaced in the 2000s, intermittently releasing albums like "Title TK" (2002), "Mountain Battles" (2008), and "All Nerve" (2018). Notably, they celebrated the 30th anniversary of "Last Splash" with an album reissue, extensive tours, and appearances at major festivals like Coachella and Riotfest. They've also shared stages with renowned acts like The Foo Fighters and Belly.

Don't let this opportunity slip by. Make sure you catch The Breeders live during their East Coast tour in January 2024 and experience a nostalgic journey through their legendary alt-rock sound.
