Allday drops surprise single 'Good Thanks'
Melbourne local and multi-talented performer and lyricist Allday (Tom Gaynor) today drops a hard-hitting surprise single ‘Good Thanks’.
Of the track, Allday shares: "I love drill and I wanted to see how melodic raps would sound on a drill tempo beat. It has hard drums and bass, but then I make it nerdy by saying 'good thanks' and mentioning bubble tea. I like showing duality because nobody is just one thing, everyone has both sides"
It’s been a big year for the widely-lauded multi-hyphenate: ‘Good Thanks’ follows his latest single ‘Eyes On The Prize’, a track that marked a return to his rap roots after the release of his guitar-backed indie rock album Drinking With My Smoking Friends. The critically acclaimed fourth studio record won praise from the likes of triple j (Feature Album), Rolling Stone (4.5*) and NME, who tipped the release as one of the Best Australian Albums of the Year.
Allday will round out the year with a string of festivals over the summer. He will perform at Beyond The City and Field Day over the new year period before kicking off 2022 with For The Love and the All-Ages Tour.
