WÜRST NÜRSE - “I'm Not Your Punching Bag” Single

Since 2016, Würst Nürse have been the world’s best and only nurse punk band. Hailing from Melbourne, Australia, the band released their debut E.P. “Hot Hot Hot” to wide acclaim in 2018 and since then have toured with the likes of The Damned, Cosmic Psychos and Clowns, playing some of the best venues in the country.  

From the power pop melodies of their first EP, the band have since developed a heavier, faster and nastier sound, writing songs based on their experiences being young healthcare professionals by day and reckless, loud, screaming women by night.  

WÜRST NÜRSE released their new single “I’m Not Your Punching Bag” today with an accompanying music video. This will be the first single taken from the new EP “THE WÜRST NÜRSE CÜRSE”. 

 The song speaks of the various types of abuse healthcare workers often face in the workplace. An especially relevant message given the current stress the global pandemic has had on the band as working nurses. The song fuses elements of stoner rock with early 90’s punk riot girl vocals.  

Accompanying the single release will be a video made whilst in the lockdown of 2021. Gathering the collective voices of their colleagues who were working on the fronline, an invite went out for nurses across the country to participate in the songs powerful outro “RESPECT YOUR NURSE, RESPECT OUR WORK!” The video features these nurses as a homage to their everyday struggles.
