Deep and dark and emotionally consuming.

Black Trilliums turbulent track ‘Banished’ is an immensely creative piece of music.

With a layered ‘call and response’  unifying Zach and Simon’s opposing vocal styles. The tug-of-war created by this clever layering of vocals highlights the skill of the band and their technical musical ability. Using this  technique you feel as though you are unhinged from the binds of your reality and move in to more fluid and transcendental realm.

Lyrically the track ‘Banished’ explores the duality of trust and betrayal in a raw and guttural honesty. Terrifying and complex the track  ultimately has a fairly dark tone but one full of depth. I can only explain it like looking at water crashing against a rocky surface. There is visceral and immensely powerful aura given by the track as it plays. There is also an almost unnerving calm before each slamming of drums and ambient acoustic guitar line.
