Well, here it is. Melbourne five-piece Future static really laying it all out with their EP.

Welcome to the world Fatalist!

The EP is catchy. Fun. Honestly it is hard to describe,  If you look on the surface this band plays metal but this EP is catchier and groovier then any heavy track you are probably spinning at the moment.

Choke is an explosive track with a rhythmic backbone. The opening line “Sometimes I feel like this life is a fever dream” just steals you away. Perfectly captivating and ironically relevant to current climate we are living in, this track is going to stick with you.

Dead End is just as exciting, probably a little more millennial/ early 20s classic alternative in sound. This song reminds me of when I was 13, first heard MCR and felt that little spark of love for all things alternative.

This EP also has your heavier needs covered with the punchy 1ish minute track Adaptive Manipulator.

The EPs title track Fatalist really showcases the powerful pipes on vocalist Keira Neil. Vocalist Kira Neil is powerful in every sense of the word and it is evident by the time the chorus rolls in during this number.  I have some mixed feelings about this number. On the first listen through the song left me a feeling of uncertainty. I listened again and again and one more time. Nothing changed. By this stage I was reaching for some choc mint ice cream and some old polaroids and me with my high school friends. Let me break it down for you. The song has you standing on the precipice of all those big moments of change in your life. The song will journey you through those defining moments where you had to really tackle something and you weren’t sure where you were headed. Huge track. Huge EP.

The EP is out April 3rd so keep an ear out.
