The Wolston Butchers Runaway - Single & Video Review
REVIEW BY: JADE GUIDA
The Wolston Butchers channeling nineties skate punk with their latest single release ‘Runaway’.
In a conversation I had with someone recently they used the expression “I’m not here to fuck spiders” and that is the best way I can think to describe this song.
The track is layered chaos straight off the bat. Cutting through the borderline hardcore sound there is a refreshing honesty and relatability to the lyrics that is consistent with all good punk tracks.
There is the just the right amount of grit and angst wound in to the song and accompanying video, which adds to the tracks ability to connect with the listener. There is a wave like aggression that crashes throughout the track that is textured in with a catchy riff and infectious bass line.
The video is fast paced like the song and adds a layer of mayhem on top of the already textured song. Overall it's a track and video that inspires mayhem and revelry.
