The first time I heard Fangz was live at the then Hideaway bar in Newtown.

It was the day I got my new camera and a friend said, ‘let’s go use it’.

Honestly, I was horrified.

I had a brand-new camera, which was more money than I had ever spent on anything and there is still a sticky spot of beer that I have never been able to clean off the body.

Fangz are a band that are experienced.

The interesting thing about Fangz is that when you scratch back the layers of explosive sound they create, what you have is clever and tactful exploration of important and heavy topics. They are loud and rowdy and yet so very clever.
That is what is so admirable, as a band they pull together this little slices of musical brilliance. No one would ever argue that Fangz write catchy, addictive tunes that throw your heart from your chest cavity. It is a known, a constant, an almost unspoken non-negotiable standard synonymous with Fangz.

Over time Fangz have taken on more serious, and ultimately more compelling topics with each release and ‘Won’t Be Me’ fits in with this trend.
With each release the band digs deeper, delivers more energy and lyrical drive to their music and ‘Won’t Be Me’ has the trademark Fangz energy and is certainly something to sink your teeth in to.
Lyrically the song explores the fluctuating feelings of staying in a relationship you feel destined to fail, and the dream team that is Fangz has managed to mirror this sonically.

Every component of this song is like two hands clasped together with fingers interlocked for support.

This song is a hug from your friend after lockdown, its reflective and comforting and fills you with a buzzing energy.

This song was created with the typical Fangz branding, loud, honest and powerful.

Won’t Be Me is available on all streaming platforms on November 12th!
