Toronto based singer GRAE has just recently dropped her brand new single “Room In The Desert” along with the news of her debut album “Whiplash” which will be available everywhere on the 15th April 2022.
“I decided to write a song about nothing, from nothing, using some random and interesting words we could find. At the time of writing, it had no real meaning which was the intention, but now I actually find meaning in it which is interesting. I hope those who listen are able to find their own unique meaning too.” GRAE shares.
And the track does just that - from the first listen you will resonate with it in a way that no one else will, which is the beauty of it.
At the start of “Room In The Desert” this new wave, pop sound rushes over you and brings this calm feeling that feels euphoric. The instrumentals and GRAE’s sombre vocals blend together perfectly throughout the three minutes and make for a ridiculously good track that will have you strangely addicted. The idea that the lyrics were made from nothing gives a lot of room for interpretation and brings a sense of space that other songs just don’t have and that’s what I heavily appreciate about the track.
GRAE is an artist to watch out for with her unbelievable songwriting skills and ability to create something out of nothing that people can listen to and take something from it. “Room In The Desert” is exceptionally good and artistic which you will somehow relate to in one way or another. Super excited to hear the new album in April.
