Song Review - Paperweight - Asteroids! And Where To Find Them’

REVIEW BY: EMERALD VIOLET

After their last single “Tracks” found great love from locals and hit nearly 10k streams on Spotify, Melbourne pop-punk band Paperweight are back with a brand new track ”Asteroids! And Where To Find Them” that will knock you out. The four piece got together back in 2020 during the peak of the pandemic and consist of Haris Dillinger (Lead Vocals), Tom Dillinger (Lead Guitarist), Luanda Tosti-Guerra (Rhythm Guitarist), and Basil February (Drums). These guys don’t let anything get in their way of creating energetic pop punk music that injects straight into your veins and has you wanting more.

The track starts off on the more softer side with just vocals and a ukulele before building up and crashing down hard into a catchy as fuck pop punk rythm that will become hooked around your brain. When the track pulls up to the bridge, it’s definitely a highlight of the track as the instruments work in a way that gives and leaves you with this huge nostalgic feeling. From the soaring guitars to the impressive drum beats, this track will have you under its spell.

If there is anything you have learned from listening to this band it’s that they can seriously do no wrong. Each track they put out is unique in it’s own way but always has that pop punk goodness in it that will catch your attention and leave you wanting more. The energy throughout this track can’t be matched and I sure can see that they would give even more energy when they play this live.

Check out the track below and let us know what you think!
