There is absolutely no bad news when Sydney band Reliqa releases a brand new track that is absolute fire. The badass single “The Bearer Of Bad News” proves that the four-piece are a force to be reckoned with their powerful vocals and attacking riffs. Reliqa are no strangers when it comes to the local prog-metal science as they bring that great metal sound with their own unique twist that listeners know and love. The new track has gotten over a massive 10,000 streams on Spotify since it’s release on November 24th and has been added to Spotify playlists such as Homegrown + Heavy which is no surprise at all since it’s a fucking banger.
Vocalist Monique Pym is nothing less than talented and that’s very much shown through this song with the dynamic vocals, and strong lyrics. Not only that but the instruments go hard and heavy and come together to create this absolute sick tune. “The Bearer Of Bad News” is a track that you will fall in love with from the first crazy good guitar riff and hard hitting drums. The band bend the boundary between prog-metal and alternative as they take parts from each genre and successfully weave them together constructing the perfect sound this is what you hear throughout the new track and it’s a key feature on why Reliqa are so fucking good.
