Song Review - Aviana - Oblivion

REVIEW BY: EMERALD VIOLET

Aviana are a metalcore band from Göteborg, Sweden who formed a few years back in 2016. After releasing the solid track “Retaliation”, they are back with a new song titled “Oblivion” that is also accompanied by a really good music video. Vocalist Joel Holmqvist describes the song “This song is angry, and honest. The first phrase in the lyrics saying “I am not stating a lie for you” explains a lot. When you are in a relationship with someone, a friend, a relative or a loved one. You can’t do whatever pleases only you. You always have to be nice and think about the way you act towards others.  I guess that’s mainly what this song is about, someone being a total asshole and not seeing it.”

The heavy as fuck instrumentals crash down in this song with the fast paced drums beats and guitars followed by the heavy screams from vocalist Joel. The vocals in this are absolutely insane and definitely a highlight for the track as they blend incredibly well with the hard punching instruments. The track only goes for around 3 minutes but in that 3 minutes we are gifted with a solid song that will have you addicted. The accompanying video for the track is very well done - it brings you in and you can’t help but watch every second of it. From the visuals to the dark tones, everything about it suits the song so well.

The track is great and the video is great so you better stop whatever you’re doing right now and go check it out - you won't be disappointed.
