Song Review -Mia Lovelock- Last Night

REVIEW BY: JADE GUIDA

Last Night is the dreamy refrain dedicated to love, memories, and the changing faces of eternity by the talented Mia Lovelock.

This release is a storm, a flood, an avalanche of blissful duality. The complexity of Lovelock’s writing is refreshing and enchanting. Listening to Last Night is like looking into an enchanted pond in the middle of a mystical forest. This is the definition of a Sirens song.

The track calls to a deep part of the human soul and desire for self-awareness and fulfilment. The song is a true journey and Lovelock brings her listeners every step of the way. Through innovative sound and a fusion of style Lovelock will delight you.

The one thing that is incredibly clear is that Mia Lovelock has a restless and unrelenting appetite for variety and an unrivalled ability to create a cohesive sound by blending electronic and folk components. A homage to Lovelock’s “Indigenous heritage to the Taungurung people.

It reflects on connecting with your inner spirit and ancestry, leading to a path of purpose” you can feel the emotion and depth of purpose throughout the track.

I think when we consume music a lot of the time, we do it without thinking. I can listen to tracks and bop along with no real connection to the words or sound.  Other times, I hang off every note, every word the musician has presented me.
I connect with that track and musician and a magical unspoken way. I love a song I can immediately connect with. I immediately bought in to the narrative that was being told and experience of the music. This is a masterpiece of emotion and joy to listen to.

Mia Lovelock has delivered a truly inspiring piece of music in “Last Night”.
